Get to know the mobility programs for academic exchange available at UFVJM
Mobility programs allow UFVJM students and staff to experience foreign universities. The programs also enable students and staff from foreign universities to attend UFVJM for a specific period. International students can also pursue undergraduate, master's, or doctoral programs at UFVJM.
Programa Estudante-Convênio (PEC)

The Programa Estudante-Convênio (PEC) is a foreign policy tool and a tool to support the internationalization of education that aims to broaden the cultural horizons of Brazilians and foster bilateral relations with countries with which Brazil has signed an educational, cultural, scientific and/or technological cooperation agreement.
The PEC aims to educate and qualify foreign students by offering places in Portuguese language courses, at undergraduate or graduate levels (master's and doctorate), in Brazilian higher education institutions. There are places available for courses in all areas of knowledge, with no costs or admission exams.
The program has three modalities:
1. Program for undergraduate students (PEC-G);
2. Program for graduate students (PEC-PG); and
3. Program for Portuguese as Foreign Language (PEC-PLE).

PEC-G offers foreign students free places for full undergraduate studies in Brazil. There are places available for courses in all areas of knowledge, with no costs or entrance exams.
PEC-G students are entitled to:
a. Free place for full undergraduate studies;
b. Medical, dental and pharmaceutical assistance through the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS);
c. Receive their final academic documents (diploma, syllabus and academic transcripts) legalized or apostilled free of charge, at the Brazilian embassy or consulate where the student registered for PEC-G;
d. In some cases, scholarships from the MEC and MRE and other aid from the HEI.

PEC-PG is a Brazilian foreign policy tool to support the internationalization of Brazilian Master's and Doctorate Programs.

In PEC-PLE, students will spend their first year in Brazil taking a free course in Portuguese and Brazilian culture to obtain a Celpe-Bras certificate. After obtaining the certificate, students will be able to begin their undergraduate course in PEC-G.

The GCUB-Mob is promoted by the International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB) with the support of Brazilian and International Governmental and non-governmental institutions, including the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Organization of American States, amongst others.
The objective of the program is to contribute to the development of high-level academic students from the five continents. Also, to promote Brazilian universities’ internationalization and strengthen international cooperation between Brazilian universities and similar institutions in other countries.
UFVJM participates in the GCUB Mob program with monthly scholarships for master's degree courses (up to 24 months) and doctorate (up to 48 months). Registration is free, and the candidate selection notice is published annually, between May and June, approximately, on the GCUB website. Latin American Academic Exchange Program(PILA)

PILA is the Latin American Academic Exchange Program, a joint initiative of educational associations from Latin America and the Caribbean for academic mobility. It is currently a consortium of 9 Latin American countries and 324 educational institutions. PILA's objectives are:
- To promote the exchange of students, teachers, researchers and administrators, in order to enrich academic, professional and comprehensive training;
- To foster the internationalization of higher education;
- To strengthen cooperation ties between Latin American and Caribbean countries.
DRI publishes calls for mobility through PILA every six months.

The result of a partnership between the Brazilian Universities International Cooperation Group (GCUB) and the National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions (ANUIES) of Mexico, BRAMEX's main objective is to promote academic cooperation between Brazil and Mexico through academic mobility.
